Product Description:
sodium formate (HCOONa) is the sodium salt of formic acid. Its white crystalline powder form, water solubility, and chemical stability make it highly suitable for leather processing. During the tanning process, it can function as a tanning agent. When hides are soaked in a tanning bath containing sodium formate, it interacts with hide proteins, cross-links collagen fibers, and thus averts fiber decomposition. Meanwhile, sodium formate's antibacterial property helps hinder bacteria and fungi from multiplying in the tanning bath, protecting hides from microbial harm and ensuring leather quality.
