Sodium Formate granular Deicing Non Chloride Snow-melting Agent: Advantages in Snow Removal Applications

  Preventive Application 
Application Scenarios: Prior to expected snowfall, frost, or low-temperature icing (e.g., before nighttime temperature drops).
  Apply in advance when the road surface is dry, at a rate of 5–10 g/m² (adjust based on temperature; for temperatures below -10°C, increase to 10–15 g/m² as needed).
 Snow Removal 
   Light Snow (≤5cm) or Mild Icing:
Temperature above -5°C: Apply 10-20g/㎡, spread evenly, then use vehicle or natural melting to melt within 1-2 hours.
Temperature between -10°C and -20°C: Apply 20-30g/㎡. Due to slower melting at lower temperatures, increase the application rate as needed to accelerate ice and snow melting.
  Thick snow (>5 cm) or hard ice:
First, remove most of the snow using mechanical snow removal equipment (e.g., snowplows). Then, apply the de-icing agent to the remaining thin snow or ice layer at a rate of 25–40 g/㎡ (increase to 40–50 g/㎡ at lower temperatures).
 Preventing refreezing (for anti-refreezing use):
After snow melting or before a sudden drop in temperature, to prevent residual moisture on the road surface from refreezing, apply a small amount of de-icing agent (5–10 g/㎡) to form a low-freezing-point solution and maintain a road surface free of refreezing.

Applications:

Excellent environmental performance: After adding corrosion inhibitors, its corrosion degree to concrete and metals is extremely small. It can protect easily corroded metals such as magnesium-aluminum alloys and cadmium plates, and has a weak impact on green plants, soil and water bodies. The chemical oxygen demand, biological oxygen demand and water toxicity are all low.
High snow-melting efficiency: The snow-melting speed is fast, and it can still melt ice quickly in an environment of -20℃. A small amount of spreading can work, which can reduce the usage amount and lower the cost. Moreover, it can effectively prevent refreezing after snow melting, maintaining road traffic safety.
No unpleasant odor: Compared with acetate-based snow-melting agents, it has no unpleasant odor, making it suitable for scenarios such as public areas where there are requirements for odor.
