HDPE is produced by copolymerizing ethylene with a small amount of alpha olefin monomer. It is referred to as low-pressure polyethylene due to the lower pressure conditions under which it is synthesized. The molecular structure of HDPE is predominantly linear with minimal branching, resulting in high crystallinity and density.

Physical Properties:

HDPE appears as non-toxic, odorless, and tasteless white particles with a melting point around 130 ℃ and a relative density ranging from 0.941 to 0.960. It exhibits excellent heat and cold resistance, maintaining optimal performance within the temperature range of -40 ℃ to 100 ℃.

Chemical Properties:

HDPE showcases remarkable chemical stability and remains insoluble in any organic solvents at room temperature. It demonstrates resistance to acid, alkali, and various salt corrosion; however, it can dissolve in hydrocarbon solvents above 60 ℃.
