Precautions for Using Sponge Buffing Pads

• Sponge buffing pads perform better with use; new pads will inevitably feel stiff to operate at first.
• A new sponge pad needs to be conditioned before its first use. You can apply an appropriate amount of wax to reduce friction between the pad and the paint surface.
• Select the right buffing pad according to the paint surface issues—there is no one-size-fits-all pad for all paint problems (it’s about "treating the right problem with the right solution").
• View buffing rationally: the paint surface will be slightly thinned after buffing, but this will make scratches, solar lines, holograms and other flaws less noticeable, resulting in a more pleasing mirror finish.

Operation Recommendations
 

• Method: Use a grid pattern (as shown in the diagram).

• Experience: Master the rotation speed, pressure, and moving speed of the buffer.
• Principle: Buff at low speed for sanding and high speed for restoring; use firm pressure on hard paint and light pressure on soft paint. 

Tip: If you’re unfamiliar with the machine, buffing pad, or abrasive compound, practice on a small area of the paint surface first before proceeding to large areas or the entire vehicle.
