This sensor is engineered for Perkins 1104C-44TA, 1104D-44TA and 1106C-E60TA turbocharged four- and six-cylinder diesel engines, and is equally compatible with the 404C-22T and 1006-6T derivatives. These engines power:
- Massey Ferguson 5400, 6400 and 7400 Series tractors
- Combine harvesters
- 40-150 kVA generator sets
- Tele-handlers and skid-steer loaders
- Light construction machinery
The sensor threads into the intake manifold plenum and continuously measures boost pressure, sending a real-time 0-5 V analogue signal to the engine control unit. This allows the ECU to modulate the turbocharger wastegate and EGR valve for optimum air-fuel ratio, torque output and emission compliance, while also providing over-boost protection for the engine.
- Pressure Range: 0-100 PSI (0-6.9 bar)
- Accuracy: ±2% full-scale
- Output Signal: Linear 0.5-4.5 V referenced to 12 V supply
- Current Draw: <15 mA
- Operating Temperature: -40 °C to +125 °C
- Body Material: Corrosion-resistant brass
- Thread Size: M14 × 1.5 male thread with 22 mm hex
- Overall Length: 65 mm
- Net Weight: 85 g
The sensing diaphragm is constructed from 17-4 PH stainless steel, laser-welded to the brass body for absolute hermetic sealing. A sintered brass snubber protects the element by damping pressure pulsations and preventing oil-borne debris from reaching the sensing component.
Internal circuitry is over-moulded in high-temperature PPS resin, achieving IP67 ingress protection and surviving 500 thermal-shock cycles from -40 °C to +125 °C without calibration drift. The sensor withstands 1,000 hours of salt-spray exposure per ASTM B117 standards.
