Application:

The 385720230 coolant-temperature sender threads into the thermostat housing of Perkins 400-, 900- and 1100-Series engines, most commonly the 403D-15, 404D-22, 404D-22T, 804D-33T and 1104D-44T that are used in Massey Ferguson 4700 and 5700 tractors, Landini Rex and Legend models, JCB 3CX/4CX back-hoes, Manitou MLT telehandlers, FG Wilson P22.5-P55 gensets and a wide range of compact industrial sweepers, compressors and forklift trucks. Its 10 mm metric thread and 2-way Amp Junior-Power Timer connector let it plug straight into the original harness, giving the dash gauge or ECU a continuous 0-120 °C coolant-temperature signal so the cooling fan, warning lamp and de-rate strategy all react at the correct threshold.

Resistance curve: 2.5 kΩ ± 5 % at 20 °C, 310 Ω ± 5 % at 80 °C, 155 Ω ± 5 % at 100 °C. Thread M10 × 1.5, 12 mm hex, 28 mm overall length, 8 mm probe tip projection into coolant. Supply voltage 5 V DC (ECU) or 12/24 V (gauge), maximum current 20 mA, response time τ₀₋₆₃ < 5 s in water at 25 °C.

Material & performance features:

The sensing capsule is an NTC thermistor potted inside a 316L stainless-steel probe for immunity to cavitation and corrosion in long-life OAT coolants. The shell is turned from lead-free brass, pressure-crimped to the probe and sealed with high-temperature fluorosilicone to eliminate moisture ingress.
