What is D-Mannitol Powder?
D-Mannitol is a chemical substance with the molecular formula C₆H₁₄O₆, appearing as colorless to white needle-like or orthorhombic prismatic crystals and crystalline powder. Its sweetness is 57%-72% that of sucrose, and its caloric value is about half that of glucose. It has a refreshing sweet taste, extremely low hygroscopicity, is stable in aqueous solution, slightly soluble in ethanol, and practically insoluble in other organic solvents. This substance is mainly used in the food industry as a low-calorie sweetener, an anti-sticking agent for chewing gum and candy, a nutritional supplement, and a humectant.
