What is Green tea?
Green tea originated in China and is the earliest type of tea in Chinese history, boasting a long production history. During the Tang Dynasty, steaming was a popular method for producing green tea in China, which was later introduced to Japan and adopted by many other countries. During the Ming Dynasty, pan-frying was invented to produce green tea. Green tea is widely distributed in Henan, Guizhou, and Zhejiang provinces of China, and also in Japan, Thailand, North Korea, and South Korea. Green tea prefers a humid and warm environment and is intolerant of direct sunlight and high temperatures. It thrives in fertile, loose, slightly acidic soil. Green tea is primarily propagated through sowing and cuttings, with cuttings being the more common method.
