Ampace JP50P1 21700 5Ah Full-Tab Lithium-Ion Battery Cell for Drones, Power Tools, E-Bikes, Electric Motorcycles and High-Rate Applications
The JP50P1 is a high-power 21700 full-tab lithium-ion battery cell engineered for applications requiring high current output, low internal resistance and stable performance under demanding operating conditions.
With a 5.0Ah capacity, 3.58V nominal voltage and 17.9Wh energy, the cell combines high energy density with strong power delivery in a compact 21700 format. Its ultra-low initial impedance of ≤ 4mΩ helps minimize electrical losses and heat generation during high-current operation.
The full-tab current collection design makes the cell particularly suitable for high-rate battery packs, where low resistance, fast energy delivery and thermal control are critical. With up to 40A continuous discharge and 180A pulse discharge for 5 seconds, it is well suited for drones, power tools, electric motorcycles, e-bikes and professional outdoor power equipment.

- Full-Tab Current Collection - The full-tab design provides a shorter and more efficient current path, supporting high-current delivery while helping control internal resistance and heat generation.
- Ultra-Low Internal Resistance - With initial impedance of ≤ 4mΩ, the cell is designed for efficient high-current operation with reduced electrical loss and thermal generation.
- 40A High-Rate Continuous Output - The cell supports up to 40A continuous discharge without triggering the 80°C temperature cut-off, making it suitable for demanding power applications.
- 180A High-Power Pulse - Up to 180A pulse discharge for 5 seconds provides strong short-duration power for acceleration, startup and high-load events.
- Excellent Low-Temperature Performance - The cell maintains approximately 85% relative discharge capacity at -20°C under the specified 30A test condition, supporting applications exposed to cold environments.
- High-Rate Capability with Controlled Heat - The combination of low impedance and high-current capability makes the cell suitable for battery systems where thermal management and power density are critical.
- Rapid Energy Replenishment - The cell supports high-current charging, enabling shorter recharge times for applications with frequent operating cycles. The manufacturer's current JP50 series information lists up to 15A charging.
- High Power in a Compact 21700 Format - A 5Ah / 17.9Wh cell provides a strong balance between energy capacity, power output and pack size.

High discharge capability, low resistance and low-temperature performance make it suitable for applications requiring rapid power delivery and high power-to-weight ratios.
- Use only within the specified voltage, current and temperature limits.
- A properly designed BMS and protection system must be used in multi-cell battery packs.
- High-current applications require appropriate thermal, electrical and mechanical design.
- Do not exceed the specified charging current or charging temperature.
- Do not discharge below the 2.5V cut-off voltage.
- Do not short-circuit, puncture, crush, deform or disassemble the cell.
- Do not directly solder to the cell terminals.
- Do not mix cells with different models, specifications, ages or usage histories.
- Do not use cells with damaged insulation, leakage, deformation or other visible defects.
- Provide sufficient insulation between cells and conductive components during pack assembly.
- Battery packs must incorporate appropriate over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, short-circuit and temperature protection.
- High-rate operation can generate significant heat; pack thermal management must be validated for the actual application.
The specified high-current and low-temperature performance is based on controlled test conditions and should not be interpreted as a universal operating limit for every battery pack. Actual pack performance depends on configuration, BMS, cooling, busbar design, operating conditions and application requirements.
