Circulating System of Oil Drilling Equipment

The circulating system is the "blood circulatory system" of drilling operations. Using drilling fluid (mud) as the medium, it performs the core functions of cuttings transport, cooling, lubrication, wellbore wall support, and formation pressure balancing — a critical system for ensuring downhole safety and stable drilling.

1. Drilling Pump (Mud Pump): The power core of the circulating system, mostly a triplex single-acting reciprocating high-pressure pump, comprising a main pump and a standby pump. It pressurizes the drilling fluid to a high-pressure state and pumps it through the surface lines and inside the drill string to the bottom hole, while drawing the returning mud laden with cuttings back to the surface, continuously completing the closed-loop circulation. It features high pressure, large flow rate, wear resistance, and continuous operation, with pressure and displacement precisely adjustable to formation conditions.

2. High-Pressure Manifold and Kelly Hose: The high-pressure manifold is a high-strength alloy piping assembly responsible for delivering high-pressure drilling fluid; the flexible kelly hose (rotary hose) connects the fixed piping to the swivel, adapting to the dynamic conditions of drill string lifting, lowering, and rotation. It withstands high pressure, corrosion, and bending, preventing high-pressure leakage of the drilling fluid.
