Product Description

Overall Definition and Industry Positioning of the Drilling Drawworks

The drilling drawworks is a large heavy-duty hoisting machine installed in the rig floor area on the rig substructure. It is a petroleum-specific heavy machinery operating at low speed with high torque, under heavy alternating loads, and with continuous start-stop operation. Its working principle is to drive the drum to rotate forward and reverse through the power transmission system, reeling in and paying out the drilling wire rope, and to work with the crown block, traveling block, and hook to form a complete traveling hoisting system, achieving lifting, lowering, suspension, feeding, and braking/locking of the drill string, casing string, and downhole tools.

The drilling drawworks differs from ordinary industrial winches, construction hoists, and workover drawworks. It features ultra-heavy-load capacity, high-pressure alternating loads, infinitely variable precise speed regulation, multiple safety brakes, 24-hour continuous heavy-duty operation, impact resistance, fatigue resistance, and protection against runaways and dropped blocks — an ultra-high industrial grade specially adapted to 10,000-meter deep wells, complex formations, and high-hazard downhole conditions in petroleum drilling. It is the standard core main machine of land rigs, offshore platform rigs, and intelligent variable-frequency drilling rigs.
