Introduction to Sheet Metal Gripper

Sheet metal grippers are the general gripping solution for press shops and well-suited for robotic part handling tasks. Being lightweight and flexible, they improve the efficiency of press tending and realize fast transfer speeds in stamping press work. Enclosed grippers are designed to withstand harsh welding environments, and the internal mechanical structure keeps the grippers from opening when the air supply fails. These grippers have a light and compact build, modular opening settings, various gripping types and multiple contact points. They also allow for quick on-site jaw reconfiguration, adjustable opening angles, multipoint detection, and require little daily on-site maintenance. The hot metal versions of the pneumatic gripper system are a tough and adaptable choice for high-temperature operations, able to handle hot metal as hot as 1650 °F (900 °C). They can grip heated sheet metal and plastics, and be used in thermoforming applications. With regular and flanged claws for different material thicknesses, the hot metal gripper can be adjusted to fit different practical working needs.
