Widely distributed in nature, titanium is the seventh most abundant metallic element. Titanium exists in minerals mainly in the form of titanium dioxide, titanate and titanium silicate.
Titanium is widely used because of its very excellent properties. Its main application areas are: aerospace, shipbuilding, chemical and petrochemical industry, transportation, weapons, marine, electric power, construction, metallurgy, medical care, sports equipment, household goods and light industry.
Bolt: Mechanical part, cylindrical threaded fastener with nut. A fastener consisting of a head and a screw (a cylinder with external threads) in two parts, to be fitted with a nut, for fastening two parts with a through hole. This type of connection is called bolted connection.
Bolts are indispensable in daily life and industrial production and manufacturing, and bolts are also known as industrial meters. The application range of bolts is extensive:
| Industry | Application |
|---|---|
| Automotive | In high-strength applications such as automotive engines, heavy-duty machinery, and bridge construction |
| Mechanical | Used to connect various mechanical parts, circuit boards, engines, transmissions, building structures |
| Energy | For connecting power generation equipment and transmission lines |
| Architectural | Used to connect building structures, improve navigation safety and stability of ships |
| Material | Properties |
|---|---|
| Aluminum | Excellent thermal and electrical conductivity but naturally soft |
| Titanium | Well suited for EDM machining, requires deionized water as medium |
| Steel | Very strong metal, generates significant heat during processing |
| Brass | High tensile strength and easy to machine, requires slow cutting speed |
The flange bolt design offers superior locking capability compared to standard bolts. The thin flange section allows for slight deformation that creates a more secure fastening. Flange bolts are particularly advantageous in softer materials where they prevent perforation and provide better load distribution.
