Differences Between Hexagon Head Bolts and Hexagon Socket Head Cap Screws

Appearance

Hexagon head bolts/screws are likely more familiar to most, featuring a hexagonal head without a recessed centre;

Hexagon socket head cap screws feature a rounded outer edge with a recessed hexagonal centre. Common variants include cylindrical head hexagon socket screws, pan head hexagon socket screws, countersunk head hexagon socket screws, and flat head hexagon socket screws. Screws without heads, such as set screws and machine screws, are referred to as headless hexagon socket screws.

Fastening Tools
