What is a standoff? As the name suggests, the standoff is a screw with internal thread at one end and external thread at the other end. The broad sense of the standoff also includes screws with internal threads at both ends. Its appearance is hexagonal, playing a role in fastening and isolating. Because it is generally made of hexagonal copper rods as raw materials, the standoff is also known as copper column, hexagonal copper column, copper isolation column or copper gasket column.

Usage: Hexagonal screws are mainly used in computers, circuit boards and other industries. When one end is screwed into the locked object, the hexagonal column is exposed to the outside, which can fix or isolate other objects.

Main specifications: Standoffs are available in M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10, etc., with hexagonal column specifications of 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15 mm, etc. (M3 series being the most common). Materials include copper, stainless steel, and fast cutting steel.

Hexagonal studs (also called yin-yang studs) feature internal thread at one end and external thread at the other end, both with hexagonal heads for fastening and isolation. They are commonly used in computers and circuit boards, where one end connects to the workpiece while the hexagonal column remains exposed for additional fixing or isolation purposes.
