SDCS-IOE-2 (ABB PN 61208097) is a plug-in I/O extension board for DCS-800 DC converters. It adds 16 digital inputs, 8 digital outputs, 4 analog inputs and 2 analog outputs to the standard DCS-800 control interface, eliminating external I/O modules and reducing panel wiring by > 30%. On-board 24 VDC supply, short-circuit protection and LED diagnostics make it the default choice for paper, metals, crane and marine DC-drive retrofits.

Installation & Start-up
- Mount board on 35 mm DIN-rail inside DCS-800; clip until latch clicks.
- Wire I/O - use shielded pairs, earth shield at panel entry only.
- Connect 24 V - observe polarity; green "PWR" LED lights.
- Configure drive - select "IOE-2" in DriveStudio, set ranges & scaling.
- Test signals - force a DO, measure 24 V; inject 4 mA into AI, verify count.
