  Shaft retaining ring, also known as shaft elastic retaining ring or snap spring, is an elastic fastener installed on a slotted shaft, which achieves axial positioning function through the combination of elasticity and groove. Its inner diameter is slightly smaller than the shaft diameter, and during installation, it needs to be expanded with clamp pliers and placed into the shaft groove. It is suitable for shaft components in hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and various mechanical equipment. Shaft retaining rings are mainly divided into type A (shaft diameter 3-200mm) and type B (shaft diameter 20-200mm), which comply with GB 894.1-86 and GB 894.2-86 standards respectively; The DIN471 standard retaining ring adopts a C-shaped structure and is suitable for different mechanical applications. This retaining ring can only withstand extremely small axial loads, and is mostly made of spring steel with a surface treated with phosphating or oxidation blackening.
