      The tappet is the core component of the engine valve train, responsible for transmitting the camshaft thrust to the push rod or valve stem, and bearing the lateral force generated during operation. According to their structure, mechanical tappets can be divided into two categories: mechanical tappets and hydraulic tappets. Mechanical tappets include mushroom, cylinder, and roller types, and are usually equipped with adjustment screws at the top to adjust valve clearances. Roller type tappets are commonly used in large bore diesel engines because they can effectively reduce frictional lateral forces. The material is mostly made of nickel chromium alloy cast iron or chilled alloy cast iron, and the friction surface is heat-treated and precision ground
