Product Description

304 & 316L Stainless Steel Tube Precision Cutting, Slotting, and Knurling Service provides comprehensive custom fabrication of stainless steel tubing. This integrated service transforms standard round, square, or rectangular tubing into sophisticated functional components. We perform high-precision cutting to length, create clean and accurate slots or perforations via laser or machining, and apply uniform, decorative, or functional knurling patterns on the tube surface. The combination of these processes on corrosion-resistant 304 or 316L stainless steel results in durable, high-quality parts ideal for applications requiring precise dimensions, fluid handling, enhanced grip, or specific aesthetic appeal.

Product Processing

Our integrated manufacturing process handles multiple value-added operations in a controlled workflow.

  1. Material Verification & Preparation: Certified 304 or 316L stainless steel tubing is verified against specifications. Tubes are straightened and cleaned as needed.

  2. Precision Cutting: Tubes are cut to exact lengths using high-speed abrasive saws, band saws with CNC feed, or laser cutting systems, ensuring square, burr-free ends with tight length tolerances.

  3. Slotting/Perforation:

    • Laser Slotting: For complex 2D patterns, slots, or holes, a CNC fiber laser cutting system with rotary attachment precisely cuts features around the tube's circumference.

    • CNC Milling Slotting: For very precise, straight, or angled slots requiring specific edge quality, CNC milling machines are employed.

  4. Knurling: The tube is mounted in a lathe or specialized knurling machine. Knurling wheels with the desired pattern (diamond, straight, crosshatch) are pressed against the rotating tube to displace material and create a raised, textured pattern. This can be done over the full length or in specified sections.

  5. Deburring & Finishing: All cut edges and slots are meticulously deburred. The knurled surface and the entire tube may undergo vibratory tumbling, brushing, or electropolishing to smooth sharp peaks on the knurl and enhance corrosion resistance.

  6. Final Inspection & Cleaning: Each tube is inspected for length, slot dimensions/placement, knurling pattern consistency, and surface quality. A final cleaning ensures a contaminant-free product.
