Corona treatment involves partial discharge on film surfaces in gas/liquid media, generating ozone and nitrogen oxides. This process increases surface tension from 29-30mN/m to above 33mN/m, enabling proper ink and adhesive adhesion.

The treatment breaks chemical bonds in plastic molecules through ion bombardment, increasing surface roughness while oxidation creates polar groups that enhance surface performance.
