Wire Rope Netting Mesh Directions
Three possible mesh diamond directions are available in relation to the building and frame:
  • Horizontal
  • Vertical
  • Diagonal
The horizontal mesh diamond direction is typically the most economical solution, especially for longer wire rope netting mesh panels. Sub-structures for balustrades are generally more cost-effective when using continuous mesh panels rather than small individual sections.

Horizontal mesh direction is the most common solution for wire rope balustrades. These long continuous mesh panels can be installed adjacent to one another over any length or joined on-site with specialized tools, creating nearly invisible seams. This configuration works well for both large installations and small individual panels.
When wire rope netting mesh panels are joined together continuously to the sides, they create a vertical mesh diamond direction. Vertical mesh direction may be preferable for larger mesh widths and safety-critical applications, particularly in facade applications or vertical fall protection systems. Round geometries are typically realized using vertical mesh diamonds.
