This durable material offers excellent abrasion resistance, operates effectively at temperatures up to 150°C, and demonstrates good resistance to common acids, solvents, and oxidizing agents.
Performance Considerations
While polyester offers numerous advantages, it has one limitation: a tendency to hydrolyze at elevated temperatures. Moisture exposure can break down the fibers, causing them to revert to their basic constituents. This results in fiber powdering and significant strength reduction.
