Function & Application

This isolated barrier is designed for intrinsic safety applications in hazardous areas. The device drives SMART I/P converters, electrical valves, and positioners with precision and reliability.

Digital signals are superimposed on analog values at both field and control sides, enabling bi-directional data transfer. Current transferred across the DC/DC converter is repeated at terminals 1 and 2, while terminals 2 and 3 are utilized when short circuit detection is not required.

The system provides high impedance to the control side during open or short field circuit conditions, allowing alarm monitoring by the control system. Integrated test sockets facilitate connection of HART communicators directly at the device terminals.

Fault conditions are clearly indicated by LED indicators and a separate collective error message output for comprehensive system monitoring.
