The PEPPERL+FUCHS KFD2-STC4-Ex2 is a 2-channel isolated barrier designed for intrinsic safety applications. This SMART transmitter power supply provides reliable operation for hazardous area instrumentation with Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 2 certification according to IEC/EN 61508.

Function & Operation
This isolated barrier is engineered for intrinsic safety applications, supplying 2-wire SMART transmitters located in hazardous areas. The device transfers analog input signals to safe areas as isolated current values while enabling bi-directional digital signal communication.
For optimal HART communication performance, the device includes an internal 250 Ω resistance between terminals 8 and 9, which can be utilized when loop resistance is insufficient. Integrated test sockets allow for easy connection of HART communicators directly at the device terminals.
