Primary Function
This isolated barrier safely transfers DC signals from fire alarms and smoke detectors in hazardous areas to non-hazardous control systems. The device also supports control of I/P converters, valves, indicators, and audible alarms. Built-in reverse polarity protection prevents damage from wiring errors.
Application Scenarios
Circuit Isolation for Control Systems: The device provides isolation for controlling positioners, I/P converters, and similar equipment. A current source is connected to terminals in the non-explosion-hazardous area.
Current Signal Isolation: Used for isolating current signals from fire detectors and similar sensors. When a voltage source is connected to terminals in the non-hazardous area, specific measurement currents across passive sensors can be measured using a series resistor (minimum 50 Ω).
Installation Note: The device is loop-powered, eliminating the need for additional power supply connections on the control side. Always verify proper voltage availability for field devices using the technical specifications.
