Functional Overview
This isolated barrier provides safe power supply for 2-wire and 3-wire SMART transmitters operating in hazardous areas. The device transfers analog input signals to safe areas as isolated current values while maintaining signal integrity.
The KFD2-STC4-Ex1 supports bi-directional digital signal transmission, allowing HART communication signals to be superimposed on the input signal in both hazardous and safe areas. For optimal HART communication performance, the device includes an internal 250 Ω resistance between terminals 8 and 9, with integrated test sockets for HART communicator connections.
