The PEPPERL+FUCHS SMART Current Driver KCD2-SCD-Ex1 is a 1-channel isolated barrier designed for intrinsic safety applications in hazardous areas.

Function & Operation
This isolated barrier repeats input signals from control systems to drive SMART I/P converters, electrical valves, and positioners in hazardous areas. Digital signals are superimposed on analog values and transferred bi-directionally between field and control sides via a DC/DC converter.
The device provides open field circuit detection with high impedance to the control side for alarm condition monitoring. Integrated test sockets allow for direct connection of HART communicators at the device terminals.
