Pepperl+Fuchs KCD2-SOT-1.LB SIL 2 Certified Isolated Safety Barrier with Galvanic Isolation and Configurable Dual Output

The KCD2-SOT-1.LB is a high-performance 1-channel switch amplifier from Pepperl+Fuchs' K-System, specifically engineered to transfer digital signals from field devices to control systems with complete galvanic isolation. This signal conditioner accepts NAMUR sensors (acc. to EN 60947-5-6) or dry contact inputs and provides two passive transistor outputs that can be configured as dual signal outputs or one signal output and one error output.

With a compact 12.5 mm width and 24 V DC power supply (via Power Rail or terminals), the KCD2-SOT-1.LB can be used as a signal splitter (1 input to 2 outputs), making it the ideal solution for applications requiring redundant signal distribution or combined signal and fault monitoring.

Certified for SIL 2 (SC 3) acc. to IEC/EN 61508, the KCD2-SOT-1.LB delivers reliable, safety-rated performance for demanding industrial automation and process control applications.

The ".LB" suffix denotes the version with configurable second output (signal or fault message), distinguishing it from standard models.

The KCD2-SOT-1.LB provides complete galvanic isolation between field circuits and control circuits. The device transfers digital signals from NAMUR sensors (proximity sensors, level switches, flow monitors) or dry contacts (mechanical switches, relays, push buttons) from the field to the control system.

• The input signal controls two passive transistor outputs independently
• Output I always provides the signal output (following the input state)
• Output II can be configured via DIP switch as either:
  • Signal output: Duplicates the input signal (signal splitter mode)
  • Fault message output: Indicates line fault conditions (breakage or short-circuit)
• The mode of operation can be reversed via DIP switches (normally open / normally closed)
• Line fault detection (LFD) monitors field wiring integrity and can be disabled if not required
• Fault conditions are indicated via front-panel LEDs according to NAMUR NE44 and a collective error message output on the Power Rail
