Product Description
FC UM Type Ram BOP 13 5/8"-10000psi Forging Type
Product Overview
The FC UM-type Ram Blowout Preventer is essential well control equipment for oil and gas drilling, workover, and well testing operations. Engineered for reliable wellbore pressure control and blowout prevention, it delivers robust safety performance through its forged construction, precise hydraulic drive system, and broad operational adaptability.
Core Features
- Full Forged Structure: Core components including BOP body, bonnets, and ram blocks are forged from high-strength alloy steel with heat treatment, providing exceptional impact and high-pressure resistance. The forged U-type ram design ensures superior strength and toughness for sealing and shearing in complex conditions.
- Wide Size & Pressure Range: Available in bore sizes from 7 1/16" to 26 3/4" with rated working pressures from 2000psi to 15000psi, accommodating various wellbore and string configurations.
- Precise Hydraulic Bonnet Operation: Features hinge-free bonnets controlled via hydraulic oil passages and piston rods. The system operates on the principle: "opening rams closes bonnets, closing rams opens bonnets" for precise, labor-saving control.
- Dual Sealing Protection: Initial sealing is achieved through four key points, with downhole pressure providing additional sealing force. Includes secondary sealing mechanism for emergency remediation via grease injection.
- Functional Versatility: Compatible with pipe rams, blind rams, shear rams, and variable-bore rams for annular space sealing, full wellbore sealing, and emergency string shearing operations.
- Corrosion Resistance & Easy Maintenance: Metal components feature anti-corrosion treatment and stainless steel overlay welding, compliant with NACE MR-0175. Hydraulic oil circuits are body-embedded for protection, and bonnets slide open hydraulically for quick access to wearing parts.
Operation Methods
Ram Opening Methods
- Hydraulic Direct Opening: With manual locking inactive, inject 8.4-10.5MPa high-pressure oil into the ram opening cavity to drive the piston and open the wellbore (simultaneously closing bonnets).
- Hydraulic Opening After Manual Unlocking: When manually locked, first rotate the handwheel counterclockwise to the end, then back 1/8-1/4 turn. Then apply pressure to the opening cavity to drive the ram open (simultaneously closing bonnets).
Bonnet Operations
- Bonnet Opening: Loosen bonnet fixing bolts, then inject hydraulic oil into the BOP's closing oil passage to push bonnets open for maintenance access.
- Bonnet Closing: Inject hydraulic oil into the BOP's opening oil passage to push bonnets closed. After proper fitting, evenly tighten the bonnet fixing bolts.
Installation & Inspection
Pre-Installation Inspection
- Verify pressure test certification and ram specification compatibility with downhole tools
- Inspect flange sealing ring grooves for defects and clean flange surfaces
- Conduct field tests to verify ram-bonnet linkage logic and bonnet translation function
Wellhead Installation Steps
- Flange Connection: Apply ISO 13678-compliant thread grease and tighten bolts evenly in three stages with proper torque.
- Pipeline & Component Connection: Connect hydraulic control pipelines with clear labeling, install manual operating lever, and connect kill and choke manifolds.
Post-Installation Inspection
- Confirm correct BOP installation direction and proper bolt tightening
- Test ram-bonnet linkage at 2-3MPa control pressure
- Test manual locking mechanism and record handwheel rotations
- Conduct full-system pressure test and re-tighten all connecting bolts
Usage Guidelines
- Assign qualified personnel with comprehensive operational knowledge
- Maintain standardized operating pressures: ≤3MPa for pipe ram testing without string; never close blind/shear rams with string present
- For long-term sealing: hydraulically close rams, engage manual lock, and place warning tags
- Perform daily linkage function tests in target zones and blind ram tests after tripping
- For faults: relieve pressure, identify cause, and avoid forced operation under pressure
