Excavator Hydraulic Cylinder Introduction

The arm cylinders on the 325D, 328D, and 329D series excavators are typical double-acting, single-rod hydraulic cylinders that operate by converting the pressure energy of hydraulic fluid into mechanical energy. When high-pressure fluid enters the piston-side chamber (the side without the rod), it drives the piston and rod to extend, pushing the arm outward to increase digging depth and operating radius; conversely, when high-pressure fluid enters the rod-side chamber, the rod retracts, pulling the arm inward. Cushioning devices at both ends of the cylinder absorb impact energy through throttling at the end of the stroke, ensuring smooth deceleration while minimizing mechanical shock and noise.
