2. What are the charging requirements for Gel batteries?
Gel batteries require a dedicated constant current-constant voltage (CC-CV) charger with: (1) Float charge voltage: 13.5-13.8V (25°C); (2) Cycle charge voltage: 14.1-14.4V (25°C); (3) Charging current ≤0.2C (e.g., 2A for 10Ah battery). Avoid overcharging (voltage >14.7V) as it causes gel electrolyte dehydration and permanent capacity loss. Temperature compensation: -3mV/°C per cell (e.g., 13.2V float charge at 0°C).
