This SMMS Level 3 surgical gown is designed for operating rooms, emergency departments, and high-risk medical settings. It complies with AAMI PB70 Level 3 standards, providing moderate-to-high barrier protection suitable for procedures involving moderate fluid exposure or splashing risks. The SMMS (Spunbond-Meltblown-Meltblown-Spunbond) composite nonwoven fabric ensures excellent bacterial barrier and hydrostatic pressure resistance while maintaining breathability and comfort for extended wear.
Laboratory tested to achieve ≥160 mmHg synthetic blood penetration resistance in critical zones (chest, sleeves, and front panel), effectively preventing fluid and pathogen transmission and significantly reducing cross-infection risks.
Compared to traditional SMS materials, SMMS incorporates an additional meltblown layer, creating a denser physical barrier with:
- High fluid resistance - effectively blocks liquids and microorganisms
- Low lint shedding - minimizes particulate contamination in the operating environment
- Good breathability - reduces heat stress for surgical staff
