Five Axis CNC Aluminum Marine Rudder Quadrant for Boat Steering Systems
This custom CNC machined aluminum rudder quadrant is designed for mechanical steering systems on small commercial vessels and sailing boats, where movement from the steering cable or linkage must be transferred to the rudder shaft. Its central bore locates the part on the shaft, while the curved attachment slots accommodate the specified cable or linkage interface.
Five axis machining can help produce curved profiles, angled faces and multiple mounting features with fewer repositioning steps. Aluminum alloy selection and surface protection should account for marine exposure, load requirements and the mating shaft material.
Before production, confirm the shaft diameter, attachment method, slot geometry, steering load, corrosion protection and any required mechanical testing. The actual interface and tolerance requirements must follow the steering system drawing and design specification.
