CNC 17 4PH Stainless Steel Dog Clutch Hub for Industrial Rotary Drives
This custom CNC machined dog clutch hub is designed for industrial rotary drives and indexing mechanisms that use face engagement teeth to couple rotating components at a defined axial position. The internal spline bore interfaces with the drive shaft, while the machined dog teeth transfer torque through their mating faces when the clutch is engaged.
17 4PH stainless steel can provide strength and corrosion resistance when the correct material condition and heat treatment are selected. The engagement geometry must also suit the drive torque, operating speed, alignment and engagement method.
Before production, confirm the drive shaft spline, number and dimensions of the dog teeth, engagement depth, required hardness, axial clearance and operating torque. Tooth geometry, bore concentricity and dimensions after any heat treatment should be checked against the actual mating component specifications.
