Capabilities and applications
The sand blasting room, also known as blast booth, uses compressed air blasting technology to process large workpieces of various shapes and dimensions. It belongs to non-standard equipment, so every set is custom-built based on the maximum size of customers’ workpieces, with a wide range of sizes to choose from.
A full blast room package includes the main enclosure, pressure blast tank, blasting nozzles, abrasive recovery system, internal lighting and protective lining plates for the walls.
Inside the blasting chamber, workpieces are mostly moved by forklifts and rail trolleys. Monorail hoists and overhead cranes are offered as optional handling systems.
Customers can pick from multiple door styles: manual swing doors, pneumatic swing doors, electric rolling shutters and sliding doors. Double-sided door layouts can also be fabricated upon request.
There are two abrasive recovery modes: manual and automatic. For manual recycling, material is collected via corner hoppers; workers sweep the media for reuse. Automatic recycling equipment is installed beneath the floor, with screw conveyors, belt conveyors and floor scrapers as available options. Among them, floor scraper systems are the most proven solution. It only requires a 500mm deep foundation pit. Alternatively, we can raise the whole booth structure with supports to eliminate the need for foundation excavation.
One pressure blast tank can be fitted with 1 to 6 blasting guns. Operators working inside the blast room are required to wear professional protective suits and safety helmets.
