Flat / Plain Tread vs Arc / Curved Korean-Style Tread – Difference
Understanding the tread design is crucial for selecting the right caster:
- Flat / Plain Tread (This Product): Features a full 50mm width of contact with the floor. It provides maximum stability, higher load distribution, and better straight-line tracking. It is designed for heavy-duty, flat-floor industrial use where equipment must remain steady.
- Arc / Curved Korean-Style Tread: Has a rounded crown. This reduces the contact patch, making it easier to pivot and turn (less scrub resistance). It is typically used for lighter-duty trolleys where maneuverability is more important than load stability.
The Biggest Difference: Flat tread = Stability & Heavy Load. Arc tread = Maneuverability & Easy Turning. This 4" caster is a rigid, anti-impact structural wheel with no shock absorption or spring suspension, built for strength, not cushioning.
