- Polyacrylamide (PAM), which can refer to either a homopolymer of acrylamide or a copolymer with other monomers, is one of the most widely utilized water-soluble polymer compounds.
- Polyacrylamide and its derivatives serve as effective flocculants, thickeners, paper strengthening agents, and drag-reducing agents in fluid systems. It finds extensive application across various industries, including water treatment, paper manufacturing, petroleum extraction, coal processing, mining, geology, textiles, and construction.
- Cationic flocculants, such as cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM), are water-soluble linear high molecular polymers with positive charges. It introduces positive ion groups such as amine groups (-NH2) or quaternary ammonium groups (-NR3) during the polymerization process, so that the polymer presents a positive charge in water. Cationic flocculants form ionic bonds with anions in water, effectively neutralizing the negative charge of suspended particles, making them easy to aggregate and precipitate. In addition, cationic flocculants can also adsorb suspended particles to polymer chains through adsorption, further promoting coagulation. Cationic flocculants are suitable for treating suspended matter with negative charges, such as sludge, papermaking wastewater, and food processing wastewater.

Instruction of polyacrylamide usage
- Before using,dissolve polyacrylamide with tap water at a ratio of 0.1%-0.5% and stir until fully dissolved.
- Do not use iron materials to stir or hold PAM, because the reaction performance of PAM will decrease when it encounters iron.
- The dosage needs to be calculated through laboratory pilot tests, with the aim of achieving the aggregation of flocs and presenting the phenomenon of sludge-water separation.
- It is better to use up the prepared PAM solution within 24 hours.
- Products should be stored in unopened package in a dry atmosphere at temperature no higher than 35℃.
