How It Works

 

The one-way degassing valve operates on a simple differential pressure principle:

  1. Degassing Phase: Freshly roasted coffee releases CO₂ as a byproduct of post-roast chemical reactions. As internal bag pressure builds and exceeds the calibrated opening threshold (typically 2-3 mbar), the pressure forces the silicone diaphragm to lift.

  2. Gas Release: CO₂ and other volatile gases escape through the valve to the outside atmosphere while the filter (where equipped) prevents coffee particles from clogging the mechanism.

  3. Automatic Sealing: Once internal pressure drops below the closing threshold, the silicone diaphragm returns to its sealed position, instantly blocking external oxygen, moisture, and contaminants from entering the bag.

  4. One-Way Protection: The valve opens exclusively when internal pressure exceeds external pressure—ensuring that outside air never enters the package.
