Product Description

Product Description

P20 Open-Path Pan-Tilt TDLAS Methane Gas Leak Monitoring System

The AiLF P20 is an automated open-path laser methane monitoring system designed for continuous gas leak surveillance at natural gas pipelines, storage facilities, and oil and gas installations. Based on Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS), the P20 detects methane along an open optical path, enabling remote monitoring of designated areas without requiring direct contact with the gas source.

Equipped with an automated pan-tilt scanning mechanism, the P20 can be configured to scan specific routes and monitoring zones. With a specified detection response time of 0.1 seconds, an IP66-rated enclosure, and support for networked monitoring, the system helps operators identify potential methane leaks and transmit alarms and monitoring information to a centralized control room.

Open-Path Laser Detection Technology

The P20 emits a laser beam at a wavelength selected for methane detection. As the beam passes through a gas plume, methane absorbs part of the emitted light. The receiving system analyzes the returned optical signal to determine methane concentration along the measurement path.

This laser-based approach supports selective methane detection and helps minimize interference from other atmospheric gases. It is well suited to remote monitoring applications where conventional point sensors may not provide sufficient coverage of the target area.

Automated Pan-Tilt Scanning

The integrated pan-tilt mechanism enables the P20 to scan designated directions and inspection routes automatically. Monitoring areas can be configured according to installation requirements, helping operators cover critical infrastructure and potential leak locations.

Automated scanning reduces dependence on routine manual inspections and supports continuous surveillance of gas facilities. When connected to compatible monitoring software, the system can provide alarm notifications and measurement information to operators for further investigation.

24/7 Continuous Methane Monitoring

Designed for continuous operation, the P20 supports round-the-clock methane leak surveillance at oil and gas sites. Its automated monitoring workflow helps operators maintain visibility over critical areas and respond promptly when potential leaks are detected.

Through a dedicated software platform, the system can automatically report alarm information and measured gas data to a control room, supporting centralized supervision and more efficient leak investigation.

Fast Detection and Intelligent Signal Processing

The P20 features a specified detection response time of 0.1 seconds, supporting rapid detection updates during monitoring operations. Built-in signal processing, auto-zero functionality, and transmitter and receiver self-test modes help support reliable operation and routine system diagnostics.

These functions help operators monitor methane signals and manage potential leak alarms more efficiently. Actual alarm timing and performance depend on the monitoring configuration, scanning settings, installation conditions, and communication system.

IP66 Protection for Outdoor Environments

With an IP66-rated enclosure, the P20 is designed to resist dust ingress and powerful water jets. This protection supports deployment in outdoor industrial environments exposed to rain, windblown dust, and other challenging weather conditions, subject to the manufacturer's installation and operating requirements.

Optional heated optics can support installations where low temperatures or environmental conditions may affect optical performance.

Remote Network Monitoring and 5G Connectivity

The P20 supports integration into networked monitoring systems, allowing multiple devices to be managed through centralized control software. Compatible network configurations enable operators to receive monitoring information and alarms from connected installations.

A 5G connection can be incorporated into suitable system configurations, supporting remote access and data transmission for geographically distributed gas infrastructure.

Low-Power Operation and Solar Power Options

Designed for ultra-low power consumption, the P20 supports solar-powered configurations for suitable remote installations. This can reduce dependence on conventional power infrastructure at isolated pipeline locations and other monitoring sites where access to mains electricity is limited.

Power supply and autonomy should be evaluated according to the selected configuration, including the pan-tilt mechanism, communication equipment, and optional accessories, to ensure reliable continuous operation.

Built-In Diagnostics and Operational Records

The P20 incorporates a range of supporting functions, including transmitter and receiver self-tests, auto-zero, non-volatile memory, a real-time clock, and built-in signal processing algorithms. These features help support system diagnostics, time-associated records, and routine maintenance during long-term monitoring.

Applications Across Oil, Gas, and Industrial Infrastructure

The P20 is suitable for continuous methane leak monitoring along natural gas pipelines, at gas storage facilities, and across oil and gas processing installations. It can also be applied to gas distribution infrastructure, industrial sites, and other facilities where automated methane surveillance is required.

By combining open-path laser sensing, automated pan-tilt scanning, continuous operation, and remote network connectivity, the P20 provides a flexible solution for centralized methane leak monitoring and industrial gas safety management.
