Product Description

U10 UAV-Mounted Remote Laser Methane Leak Detector

The AiLF U10 is a remote laser methane leak detector designed for UAV-based natural gas pipeline inspections, industrial safety surveys, and gas leak investigations. Compatible with DJI M350 and M400 series drones, the U10 combines laser-based methane detection with aerial mobility, allowing operators to inspect difficult-to-access areas from a safer distance.

Using mid-infrared laser absorption technology, the U10 specifically detects methane (CH₄) and provides rapid measurements without relying on conventional contact-based gas sensors. With a specified resolution of 3 ppm·m, a response time of 0.025 seconds, and a maximum detection distance of 150 m, the system supports efficient aerial surveys across extensive infrastructure and potentially hazardous locations.

Remote Methane Detection from the Air

The U10 enables methane leak inspections from an elevated or remote position, reducing the need for personnel to approach suspected leaks directly. With a maximum detection distance of 150 m, it is suitable for surveying pipelines, gas infrastructure, industrial facilities, and other locations where ground-based inspections may be difficult or hazardous.

When integrated with a compatible UAV, the detector helps operators cover larger inspection areas while maintaining distance from potential leak sources.

High-Sensitivity Laser Measurement

The U10 uses laser absorption spectroscopy to selectively detect methane. Its specified resolution of 3 ppm·m supports the identification of methane along the laser measurement path, helping inspection teams investigate suspected leaks and identify areas requiring further assessment.

The instrument has a concentration range of 0–50,000 ppm·m, supporting measurements across a broad range of methane accumulation levels. Concentration values expressed in ppm·m represent path-integrated methane concentration rather than a direct measurement of gas concentration at a single point.

Fast Response for Efficient Aerial Surveys

With a specified response time of 0.025 seconds, the U10 supports rapid detection updates during aerial inspections. Fast measurement response helps operators monitor changing readings as a drone moves along a pipeline route or surveys an industrial site.

Combined with UAV mobility, this capability can improve inspection coverage and help teams prioritize suspected leak locations for follow-up investigation.

Designed for DJI M350 and M400 UAV Platforms

The U10 is compatible with DJI M350 and M400 series UAV platforms, supporting integration into professional aerial inspection workflows. Its compact dimensions of 174 × 89 × 163 mm and lightweight main unit of approximately 0.7 kg help accommodate UAV-based deployment.

The system is designed for pipeline patrols, utility infrastructure inspections, and industrial surveys where aerial access can improve operational flexibility. Compatibility, mounting hardware, power supply, and data integration should be confirmed for the specific UAV configuration.

Reliable Performance in Outdoor Environments

The U10 is specified for operating temperatures from -20°C to 50°C and operating humidity below 98% RH, non-condensing. These operating parameters support use across a range of outdoor inspection conditions, subject to the manufacturer's operating instructions.

Its remote detection approach is particularly useful when inspecting elevated pipelines, restricted-access facilities, and areas where direct personnel access may present additional risks.

Applications Across Infrastructure and Industry

The U10 is suitable for aerial methane surveys along natural gas transmission and distribution pipelines, urban utility networks, gas storage infrastructure, and industrial facilities. It can also support inspections at landfill and biogas facilities, emergency leak investigations, and other environmental monitoring applications where methane detection is required.

By combining remote laser sensing, rapid response, and UAV compatibility, the U10 provides an efficient solution for aerial methane leak inspection and large-area gas infrastructure surveys.
