The Pulse Electronics PH9085.XXXNL and PM2180.XXXNL series are high isolation power supply transformer drivers designed for fixed duty cycle Push-Pull topologies. These SMD toroidal transformers offer a low-cost solution for delivering up to 2W from a low voltage source, suitable for applications like isolated RS-485/RS-232 power supply driver circuits. The design is compatible with the Maxim MAX253 IC. Notes:
- ET Max is calculated to limit core loss and temperature rise at 420KHz based on a bipolar flux swing of 210mT Peak.
- For Push-Pull topology, ET needs to be derated by 50% for the same flux swing.
- Applied ET may need further derating for higher frequencies based on temperature rise from core and copper losses.
- Continuous isolation voltage confirmed by 125C/1000hrs accelerated aging with bias voltage applied between primary and secondary windings.
