These Insulation Displacement Crimp (IDC) terminals eliminate the need for pre-stripping magnet wire, reducing labor and preventing conductor damage. MAG-MATE terminals are available in various styles including poke-in, poke-in tab, splice, crimp wire barrel, solder post, quick connect tab, pin, and receptacle types. They are engineered to terminate film-insulated copper and aluminum magnet wire, with a broad range covering 34-12 AWG [0.16-2.05 mm]. The system utilizes specialized MAG-MATE inserters and plastic cavities, either integrated into coil bodies or in separate housings, to ensure precise wire positioning and secure terminations. The insulation displacement slots feature stripping shoulders that remove the film insulation, creating a stable, gas-tight metal-to-metal interface. Applications include motor windings, coil connections, transformer windings, lighting ballasts, and power supplies.
