Crankshaft front and rear oil seals are core sealing components to lock engine lubricating oil inside the crankcase. When the old seals lose elasticity after long service time, oil will leak from the crankshaft front end and flywheel housing.
Continuous oil leakage will lead to insufficient oil level, abnormal bearing wear and engine damage. It is recommended to replace both front and rear crankshaft oil seals together during engine disassembly and maintenance.
