Product Description
Gas Detector Instrument for Oil, Gas, Mining and Chemical Industries
Designed to monitor toxic and flammable gas levels in demanding industrial environments including oil, gas, mining, and chemical processing facilities.
Technical Highlights
Engineered around imported high-performance sensing elements, the Point-Type Gas Detector delivers fast response, high accuracy, long-term stability and excellent repeatability. Seven model variants cover methane, oxygen, methanol, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia and chlorine, with customizable gas detection capabilities for specific applications.

Operating Principle
- TDLAS (tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy) for methane - laser-based, immune to poisoning, no oxygen required
- Catalytic combustion for methanol - proven technology for combustible gas in the LEL range
- Infrared (NDIR) for carbon dioxide - stable, selective, unaffected by oxygen deficiency
- Electrochemical cells for oxygen, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia and chlorine - oxygen measured as volume percent, toxic gases at ppm-level sensitivity
Performance Features
- Wide detection range - broad gas-type coverage with accurate measurement
- Customised gas hoods - compatible with waterproof covers, calibration covers and accessories
- Full-colour LCD display - improved environmental visibility and dark-environment operation
- Rugged design - explosion-proof, anti-static, anti-EMI, suitable for complex field environments
- Flexible connectivity - supports 4-20 mA, RS485, wireless and other transmission modes
- Scalable architecture - works with controllers for multi-point centralised management
Sensor Technology and Long-Term Stability
The methane variant GT-C100 uses TDLAS, a laser absorption method that requires no oxygen and is not poisoned by silicones or sulfur compounds, making it ideal for cargo and fuel-gas service. The methanol variant uses catalytic combustion for combustible gas in the LEL range, while oxygen is measured by an electrochemical cell across 0-25% volume range. Infrared measurement of carbon dioxide remains selective even with fluctuating oxygen levels, while electrochemical cells for hydrogen sulfide, ammonia and chlorine provide ppm-level sensitivity. Accuracy is ±3% FS on LEL, infrared and oxygen models, ±2% FS on ammonia and ±5% FS on hydrogen sulfide and chlorine.
Interfaces & System Integration
Concentration data is transmitted via 4-20 mA, RS485 or wireless to the AIRPPB Gas Alarm Control Cabinet, which can supervise up to 112 field detectors. The central cabinet supplies power, performs processing, raises alarms and drives fire-protection linkage.
Typical Applications
| Location | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Double-wall ventilation ducts | Confined space with limited ventilation - leak accumulation is high-risk |
| Fuel-tank joints & connections | Primary leak point on fuel handling systems |
| Fuel preparation rooms | Hot-work adjacent zone with continuous fuel handling |
| Engine rooms & pump rooms | Equipment density and high-temperature surfaces |
| LNG cargo areas | Cryogenic flammable-gas risk |
