1.Product Introduction Calcination Rotary Kiln


The Continuous Automated Calcination Rotary Kiln is an industrial-grade thermal processing system designed for high-temperature continuous material treatment. Its core structure comprises an inclined rotating steel cylinder, a refractory lining, a drive assembly, a combustion system, and an intelligent temperature control unit. Utilizing a PID closed-loop control system, the equipment achieves precise regulation of the calcination zone temperature. Combined with real-time feedback from multi-point thermocouples, it automatically adjusts fuel injection and combustion air volume to maintain temperature fluctuations within ±5°C. Designed for continuous feeding and discharging, it is ideal for high-thermal inertia and strongly non-linear processes, featuring auto-start/stop, fault alarms, and remote monitoring capabilities. It serves as critical equipment in modern cement, metallurgy, and chemical production.



2.Application Calcination Rotary Kiln


• Lime Production: High-efficiency calcination of limestone to produce active Calcium Oxide for steelmaking and environmental desulfurization.
• Metallurgy & Chemicals: Roasting of bauxite, calcination of petroleum coke, and thermal treatment of titanium dioxide and zinc suboxide.
• Environmental Disposal: Acting as the core of hazardous waste incineration systems to ensure complete organic decomposition and heavy metal stabilization.
• Material Recovery: Supporting the high-temperature activation and resource recovery of spent battery cathode materials and smelting slag.



3.Working Principle Calcination Rotary Kiln

  • Thermal Isolation Conduction: Fuel burns completely within an independent combustion chamber. High-temperature flue gases never enter the material zone; instead, heat is transferred through the metallic inner cylinder wall primarily via thermal radiation, supplemented by convection, achieving "clean heating."

  • Rotational Axial Transport: The inner cylinder rotates slowly (1–5 rpm). Driven by gravity and a cylinder inclination of 3–5°, the material moves at a constant speed from the feed end to the discharge end, ensuring uniform heating and complete reaction.

  • Temperature Gradient Modeling: Based on one-dimensional heat conduction models, a multi-zone temperature control system manages the axial temperature distribution (Preheating, Calcination, and Cooling zones) to optimize reaction kinetics.

  • Airtight Isolation Design: The inlet and outlet utilize multi-stage sealing structures (such as graphite seals or gas seals) to prevent ambient air infiltration or process gas leakage, maintaining a pure reaction environment.


4.Advantages Calcination Rotary Kiln


1. Material Transport & Heat Exchange
Material enters from the kiln tail and moves toward the kiln head driven by the cylinder's slow rotation and inclination. High-temperature gases are injected from the kiln head, making counter-current contact with the material. Heat is transferred efficiently through radiation, convection, and conduction.
2. PID Temperature Closed-Loop Control
• Proportional (P):
Immediately adjusts the fuel valve opening based on the deviation between the setpoint and measured temperature.
• Integral (I): Eliminates cumulative steady-state errors over time to ensure long-term accuracy.
• Derivative (D): Counteracts sudden temperature spikes, preventing overshoot and oscillation to improve system stability.
3. Multi-point Thermal Feedback
Multiple K-type thermocouples are arranged axially along the kiln body to collect real-time data from the calcination, transition, and cooling zones. Data is processed by a PLC to drive actuators, forming a dynamic response loop.
4. Combustion Optimization
Combined with oxygen sensors and airflow control valves, the system achieves an optimal fuel-to-air ratio, enhancing combustion efficiency while reducing  emissions.
