Type J Thermocouple Compensation Wire 2 Conductors Thermocouple Cable Wire
- Thermocouple Extension Wire
J-type thermocouple compensation wire is a special wire used to extend the J-type thermocouple measurement loop and compensate for the cold end temperature change. It is made of materials such as iron-copper-nickel alloy, has good thermoelectric performance and stability, and can maintain the same thermoelectric electromotive force characteristics as the J-type thermocouple within a certain temperature range (usually -25℃ to 70℃ or higher, depending on the insulation material).
Depending on the insulation and sheath materials, J-type compensation wires are available in a variety of models, such as polyvinyl chloride insulated polyvinyl chloride sheath (JX-GA-VV), fluoroplastic insulated sheath (JX-HA-FF), cross-linked polyethylene insulated polyvinyl chloride sheath (JX-GA-YJV), etc. In addition, shielded and flame-retardant wires are also available to meet the anti-interference and fire prevention requirements in different environments.
J-type compensation wires are widely used in industrial temperature measurement fields, such as electricity, metallurgy, chemical industry, etc., which can effectively improve the accuracy and reliability of the temperature measurement system. When using, pay attention to matching with the J-type thermocouple and ensure that the positive and negative poles of the wire are connected correctly.

- Type J Accuracy
The iron-copper-nickel thermocouple (J-type thermocouple) is also called the iron-constantan thermocouple. Its positive electrode (JP) has a nominal chemical composition of pure iron, and its negative electrode (JN) is a copper-nickel alloy, often vaguely called constantan. Its nominal chemical composition is 55% copper and 45% nickel, as well as a small but very important amount of cobalt, iron, manganese and other elements. Although it is called constantan, it is different from the constantan of nickel-chromium-constantan and copper-constantan, so it cannot be replaced by EN or TN.
The iron-constantan thermocouple covers a measurement temperature range of -210~1200°C, but the commonly used temperature range is 0-750°C.
- Application Areas
- Industrial production: metallurgy, chemical industry, electric power, machinery manufacturing and other industries, used for temperature monitoring of high-temperature equipment.
- Food processing: temperature measurement in baking, cooking and food sterilization equipment.
- Scientific research and laboratories: materials science, physical experiments and other scenes that require high-precision temperature measurement.
- Environmental monitoring: temperature monitoring in meteorology, oceanography, geology and other fields.
