• Under specified contact pressure and given area, with the sample forming a fixed angle with the sandpaper, the abrasion resistance is determined by rubbing against sandpaper of a certain grade
• Sandpaper is wrapped around the roller surface, and the sample is pressed tightly against the sandpaper-covered roller, causing transverse movement along the roller
• Abrasion occurs at one end of the cylindrical sample, with mass loss measured and volume abrasion loss calculated based on sample density
