Rabbit Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACSR) Conductors 6*3.35mm+1*3.35mm BS 215-2 BS EN 50182
Construction:
Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACSR) is concentrically stranded conductor with one or more layers of hard drawn 1350-H19 aluminum wire on galvanized steel wire core. The core can be single wire or stranded depending on the size. Steel core wire is available in Class A , B or Class C galvanization for corrosion protection. Additional corrosion protection is available through the application of grease to the core or infusion of the completed conductor with grease.
Application :
ACSR are available in a range of steel contents ranging from 6% to 40% for additional strength. The higher strength ACSR conductors are commonly used for river crossings, overhead earth wires, and installations involving extra-long spans. The ACSR conductor can, against any given resistance, be manufactured to different tensile strengths, so a high tensile strength combined with its lightweight properties means it can cover longer distances with fewer supports. Due to the greater diameter of the ACSR conductor, a much higher corona limit can be obtained which is advantageous on high and extra high voltage overhead lines.
There are the following advantages of the ACSR Conductor:
High strength-to-weight ratio: ACSR's design provides exceptional strength while remaining lightweight, making it ideal for long-distance power transmission.
Good conductivity and efficiency: Aluminium's conductivity ensures efficient power transmission, reducing energy losses during distribution.
Corrosion resistance: The steel core of ACSR provides resistance to corrosion, enhancing the conductor's durability in various environments.
Cost-effectiveness compared to other conductors: ACSR is a cost-efficient choice for power transmission and distribution compared to alternatives like copper conductors.
Thermal Stability: ACSR conductors boast excellent thermal stability, ensuring reliable performance in environments with temperature fluctuations.
Reduced Electromagnetic Interference: The steel core minimizes electromagnetic interference, making ACSR suitable for applications where signal quality is crucial.
Ease of Installation: ACSR's lightweight design facilitates easy installation, contributing to cost savings and swift deployment in electrical projects.
Hardware Compatibility: ACSR conductors are versatile and compatible with various supporting hardware and accessories for diverse installation scenarios.
