Manufacturing filter drums involves three sequential steps: coiling a flat sheet of wire mesh or perforated metal into a cylinder, welding the longitudinal seam, and ejecting the finished cylinder. Performing these steps on separate machines creates handling bottlenecks, risks part damage during transfer, and introduces alignment errors between the coil and weld stages.

This Xinwei automatic tunnel seam welder consolidates the entire process into one machine. The operator loads a flat sheet and initiates the two-hand start. The machine automatically transfers the sheet to the welding station, precisely coils it into a cylinder using a forming die, pressurizes and continuously seam-welds the longitudinal joint with a pneumatic electrode wheel, and auto-ejects the finished filter drum. The result is a sealed, structurally sound cylinder produced in a single automated cycle with no intermediate handling.
