Heater housings present a unique 3D welding challenge. Weld points are distributed across multiple faces and angles of the enclosure. A single gun type cannot reach all positions efficiently: some joints are best accessed with an X-type gun for deep reach, others with a C-type gun for tight spaces. Traditional single-gun stations require manual part reorientation between welds, adding cycle time and introducing positioning error.

This Xinwei automatic spot welding cell solves the problem with flexible, switchable X-type and C-type welding gun modules mounted on servo-driven multi-axis motion mechanisms. The system autonomously selects the correct gun type and approach angle for each programmed weld point. The quick-change fixture, adjustable via positioning blocks, supports rapid changeover between three different heater housing variants. Operators load the part, press start, and the system executes the full 3D weld sequence automatically.
